Implement alerts for rsync task progress

Description

As far as I can tell, rsync tasks produce no alerts or notifications of any kind. It would be nice to be able to see the status in some form and receive alerts on failure.

Additionally, the presence of the quiet option in the gui indicates that I should expect to receive some output from the task. Currently it doesn't seem to serve any purpose.
