Cannot edit Share ACL for SMB shares

    XMLWordPrintable

    Details

    • Impact:
      Low

      Description

      TrueNAS 12.0-RELEASE

When an SMB share is not "Enabled", the user cannot edit the Share's ACL. There should be no reason why an an SMB share cannot be edited just because it's not currently enabled.

      1. Go to Sharing > SMB
      2. Locate a share that is not currently enabled
      3. Click the three-dots > Edit Share ACL
      4. Nothing happens! Fake button?

The only way to work around this for now is to do extra steps, even if you want to leave a share temporarily disabled.

      1. Go to Sharing > SMB
      2. Locate a share that is not currently enabled
      3. Click the three-dots > Edit
      4. Check Enabled
      5. Click Save
      6. Click the three-dots > Edit Share ACL
      7. Make your changes
      8. Click Save
      9. Click the three-dots > Edit
      10. Check Enabled
      11. Click Save
