TrueNAS 12.0-U1 Microcode update frozen

Description

After upgrading my system to FreeNAS 11.0-U3 to TrueNAS 12.0-U1 everything booted fine and the upgrade completed successfully it seemed. I rebooted the system and now it is stuck with a "Updating CPU Microcode..." message that never completes... Pressing CTRL+C or any key combination does not do anything at all and I'm completely locked out of the system because of this.

I've attempted to boot into single user mode and updated the rc.conf file to disable the update however it did not make any difference it keeps trying to run. I downloaded the FreeBSD 12.2 RELEASE image and boot from that image and downloaded the latest devcpu-data package and ran it from there. It completed instantly without any problem so I'm not sure what the problem is with how this is being implemented in TrueNAS 12.0-U1 but something is very broken here.

I've already updated my BIOS and BMC to the latest available versions and it does not make any difference. I've tried everything I can here.. I did not know this would happen so I updated the ZFS versions already as everything was working fine prior to the reboot... Is there something I can do to turn off this Microcode update that keeps running so I can get my servers back up and operational... everything is offline !
