regression: folders with / (slash) in name appear empty over SMB shares

      Description

Until just 5 days ago I was running FreeNAS 11.3-U5.  I updated to 12.0-U2.1.  Just hit a serious regression with my SMB/samba shares.

All folders that have a / (slash) in their name appear empty when opened (at least on macOS).

Now, computer programmers like us would probably never put a / in a folder name, but non-technical office users do this. (macOS allows it because historically : was the path separator, not /)

A concrete example is a folder named "Y/E 2020-12-31". (Y/E being 'year end')

My coworker nearly died thinking she lost all our company's accounting info. hehe

The folder appeared in the macOS Finder with the correct name "Y/E 2020-12-31", but navigating inside it shows 0 items. Trying to copy the folder to the local desktop fails. Trying to rename it from the Finder fails.

My immediate workaround was to rename from the truenas command line, which I only managed to do thanks to tab completion:

      mv Y$'\357\200\242'E\ 2020-12-31 "YE 2020-12-31"

As as I said, this is a regression, it worked 11.3.
