I keep getting a "Dynamic DNS service failed to start" error when I try to flick the switch on the Dynamic DNS service. This was working fine for me till a couple of days ago, but somehow doesn't work any more since I updated to TrueNAS-12.0-U5. I have tried different Dynamic DNS services (incl. Google Domains, FreeDNS and DNSOMATIC) but none of them work for me.
I would love to paste a log but I'm very new to this and have no idea where to find the logs. Below is my system summary:
could you please try to reduce this kind of regression bugs? it feels like there are too many of this kind happening, in between minor version updates only software quality should improve.
but this breaking change in 12.0u5 should have been noticed by committer or qa tester and not made it into u5. actually this would have been right for 12.1 tree, and not 12.0u5
Can you please attach a debug file to this ticket? To generate a debug file on TrueNAS CORE, log in to the TrueNAS web interface, go to System > Advanced, then click Save Debug and wait for the file to download to your local system. In TrueNAS SCALE, this option is in System Settings > Advanced.
