Windows uses hardware info to create an installation ID that it reports to windows servers for license verification. As long as no hardware in the computer is changed, this installation ID should not change.
On every restart of my windows VM, my installation ID has changed and forced me to log in and added a linked device to my microsoft account and microsoft store account even though I havn't changed any devices or VM configuration parameters. I'm also worried that this will affect my windows license as every license only has so many re-arms available.
The installation ID is visible if you type "slmgr /dlv" into a windows command prompt.
This issue is major as it affects windows licensing and should make anyone wanting to run a licensed windows VM think twice before activation.
I've included two redacted screen grabs of my "slmgr /dlv" to demonstrate the different installation ID.
