Allow netatalk to index shares and enable spotlight

Description

I was reading netatalk docs and i see that it supports spotlight just fine

It can index share locally using tacker daemon and then allow for quick search on all connected macs

Is it possible to implement this in FreeNAS?

I am trying to use spotlight backend with elasticsearch without success (12.0-U2). All daemons start correctly but mdfind doesn't return any result. Moreover I don't find any file mds/sportlight related on /usr. Anyone has successfully used spotlight on smb? thank you

At this point it will be up to the community to provide a plugin for this functionality. I believe some community members made a guide for putting "diskover" into a jail. This might be enough and would at a minimum be a good starting point.

Yeah, that's great news!

How likely would an Elastic plugin be? Might be a good way to integrate search without cluttering up the base. I'd be happy to open a feature request if you don't think it will be dismissed out of hand.

12.0 already has Samba 4.12. I will update the port to compile with spotlight support. Configuration will have to be done through auxiliary parameters.
