Root API Keys

Description

We'd really like to flesh out the API to get us away from using root/ combinations for external providers. To do this, we'd like to see some of the following functionality get added:

  • The root-user should be able to create "API Access Tokens" and manage them, add/remove. These should have a "comment" field so you can record which service it was created for (TrueCommand/vCenter/Etc). These are permanent until revoked.

  • API access requests while using this token should be logged as such, so that in the UI or API you can pull history to see what API requests were being used by this token, as well as the IP/hostname of the system the request came from.
