Checksum fail when installing FreeNAS 11.3

Description

This user, and others, seem to have this issue when stalling FreeNAS. I don't have the expertise to investigate or solve this. Just want to file the ticket here so that the appropriate expert can take a look. Here's the forum post with more detail: https://www.ixsystems.com/community/threads/bug-checksum-fail-while-installing-freenas-11-3.82038/

Thanks to Former user, who had pointed me in the right direction in another ticket, I was able to find out that it is a hardware fault.
I did a fair bit of testing on it to confirm that.

I will give a detailed update in my forum post here: https://www.ixsystems.com/community/threads/bug-checksum-fail-while-installing-freenas-11-3.82038/

For all I care, this can be closed as it is confirmed to not be a FreeNAS-related problem.

Thanks!

OK, things got really weird about the first few boots.

The first successful (2nd) boot came up with the old UI. (1) Plugins did not load, unable to see Plex that I had already confirmed was running.  (2) Unable to access Network resources (and had an error message that it was attempting to bind with an IP range I stopped using months ago...)  (3)Unable to access Shell.

Rebooted (3rd time), and now showing new UI, new PlugIn options, etc.

OK, I downloaded the ISO earlier and today burned and installed the update.  I did not get any checksum failures, but I did not test for it, since I am too much of a newbie to understand the syntax required.

The install went fine, slow, but fine.

On first boot, hung at the following:

middlewared: setting up plugins (systems) 1/34

After a few minutes searched and found others reporting the same issue in forums, and they used "Cntrl-C", which I did and the boot progressed shortly and then shut the machine down.  On reboot loaded successfully without any intervention.

So far appears to be good, although that is with under 10-minutes of uptime.

Please note for me this was occurring with the FeeNAS internal update installer, so it appears to be occurring with the ISO (mrmanko and others) and the update.
