Currently, there is no way to quickly enable or disable a share using the GUI: no such "Enabled" checkbox exists. The user must either delete the specific share completely (which is undisireable, since they will need to re-create it all over again later), or they can edit cryptic config files over and over, which defeats the purpose of using the TrueNAS/FreeNAS GUI as an appliance.
Shares lack a basic, yet very useful option: Enabled
One should be able to toggle a share (SMB, NFS, etc) as enabled or disabled. Such options already exist in other menus. See attached screenshots. First image is an example of such a toggle that exists in another menu. Second image shows where it can be placed for a share's options.
