NSURLSession Websocket is enabled by default since iOS 15.

The current workaround is to go to Settings -> Safari -> Advanced -> Experimental Features and enable NSURLSession Websocket.

I've encountered the exact same issue and there are also some german threads with this but without any solution, so I want to provide my experience with this. This issue still is not fixed.

System versions

iOS 14.4.2

TrueNAS-12.0-U2.1

When the http to https redirect in Truenas is enabled it is not possible to login to Truenas using an iPhone or an iPad, using macOS just works fine. It seems to be an issue caused by the certificate.

How can this be solved?

NSURLSession, not NSURLSessionSocket *.

I have the same issue, the tip above from Iaad solved it. I found the important toggle, it is “NSURLSessionSocket WebSocket”. For some reason this is the setting that needs to be enabled to allow login.
