Creation date lost on move from Windows 10 client

Description

Move a file (with a created date older than the modified date) from a Windows 10 PC to an SMB share using File Explorer. The creation date will be set to the modification date instead of being preserved. If a Windows 7 client is used instead, the date is preserved. It is also preserved with FREENAS-11.3-U4.1. Shares were created using the default options for the release under test.

Tried just now.

The creation date and modification date are set to current time.

The original dates are not preserved.

Thanks.

You can try setting `ixnas:dosattrib_xattr = true` as an auxiliary parameter for the SMB share.

Hi,

The creation dates for files are preserved.

For folders they are not.

I'm using: TrueNAS-12.0-U1.

Thanks.

Okay. I was able to reproduce the issue. Will have fix for VFS module (vfs_ixnas) shortly. Fix for OS behavior is still pending upstream.
