PLease clarify whether 16.00.12 firmware fix needed for 24 port LSI cards, or 9305-xx series, or just 9300? If needed, is it possible to get?

Yes, the 9305-16i and the 9305-24i both got the 16.00.12.00 update, and you can find these on Broadcom’s website. Pull that page up, expand the “Firmware” accordion, press Ctrl+F, and type “16.12”. This will show you what you’re looking for. Here’s a link to the 9305-16i’s P16.12 firmware.
You may also need to download SAS3Flash for Linux, because these releases only have the Windows, DOS, and UEFI versions. This particular download is poorly-named ("Installer_P16_for_Linux") and has no mention of “SAS3Flash” in its description, so you might never have found it. Here’s a link.
I used the linked SAS3Flash to flash the linked firmware update — including its legacy BIOS and signed UEFI option ROMs — to a 9305-16i. Everything works perfectly, and the card indeed reports “16.00.12.00” as its version. You can flash the firmware and both BIOSes in the same command — just use the -b flag twice: once for each option ROM (SAS3Flash will know whether it’s legacy BIOS or UEFI).
I don’t blame you for your confusion — it took me quite some time to figure all this out. I don’t think there’s a guide out there anywhere on the Internet (aside from this comment) for getting this update onto these cards.

This is a followup to (" HBA resets and random reboots on LSI controller") which itself may follow up NAS-105053.
In that report, Broadcom uploaded a new firmware 16.00.12.00 with fixes for HBA models 9300-4i, 9300-4i4e, 9300-8i/e, and 9300-16i/e.
But the issue isn't quite closed. There's some confusion and lack of information on the forums about implications for the extremely similar 9305-16i/e and 9305-24i/e HBAs.
Does ixSystems have a contact at Broadcom to find out if these are also affected, and if so, whether Broadcom could upload a copy of their beta 16.00.12.00 for these cards to complete the firmware collection? Or confirm peace of mind that these cards aren't affected?
