Description

FreeBSD NFS read/write size seems to be max at 131072. It would be fantastic if it could increase to 1048

I had also posted on a FreeBSD list where Rick Macklem was kind enough to reply and mentioned that it may be included in FreeBSD 13.X or 14;

  • Recompile a kernel with NFS_SRVMAXIO (in sys/fs/nfs/nfsport.h)
    increased to 1Mbyte.

  • Increase kern.ipc.maxsockbuf to several mbytes
    Then you try it and see what happens?
    (Don't be surprised if the net interface driver runs
    out of some resource or you have to disable stuff like
    TSO, LSO, LRO.)

Sorry, meant to say that it would be great to max FreeBSD NFS r/w size to 1048576.
