+1 For adding this support, as encrypting the stored data is a must. As helps to ensure what is stored is less likely to leak, through malicious physical access.
For TPM 1.2 and 2.0 (though TPM 2.0 has more security). But not everyone can afford devices with TPM 2.0 also refurbished servers or computers aren’t always equipped with that new a spec of TPM. Often the server good for home labs e.g. Dell PowerEdge R620 only has TPM 1.2.

+1 for adding TPM support in VM's. With Windows 11 requiring it, this is an essential feature going forward.

Additionally as outlined in a micron white paper (page 10) it should allow for the decryption keys for SED SSDs and HDDs to be stored on the TPM device rather than on the disks which increases the risk of unauthorized access.

Windows 11 will require TPM. We need support for this and the ability to enable it in VMs.
